Hemby Bridge was designed for an active learning process that guides the enthusiasm, inventiveness and inquisitive spirit of
its students. Since the principal serves as the school's educational leader with tasks delegated outward towards the faculty
and staff, the principal's office is located within the media resource center, the central core of the school. Because the
media center is such an important focus of the teaching process and all students continually draw upon its resources, the four
instructional "houses" open directly into the media center. Within each of the "houses," teachers conduct class
upon centralized platforms within the flexible open space. A teacher's planning station with conference rooms and private
carrels for class preparation are located adjacent to the open teaching space.
