St Matthew Catholic School

This new 700-student elementary school for kindergarten through fifth grade includes 25 classrooms, a computer room, art and music classrooms, a media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, administrative offices and support areas. The facility also serves the needs of the parish for religious education on evenings and weekends. FWA worked with program manager Webb Clements throughout the design and construction. Ramseur Peterson Architects is the architect of record for the project.

The FWA Group was part of a team that first produced a Master Plan for the parish property in 2002. The Master Plan defined the expansion of worship and ministry spaces on the 15 acre site that belongs to the parish of St. Matthew in south Charlotte. FWA also provided design consulting services for the educational facilities.

The elementary school is a freestanding building located on the campus. Site development for the parish campus also used by the school includes new playing fields, individually fenced play areas, parking and student drop-off circulation areas.
