The regular rhythm and geometry of the overall site layout compliments its natural setting with seven similar buildings ordered
in a neat diagonal row across the landscape. There was no need for more than 2 feet of fill under any of the buildings and each was
positioned sensitively onto the land. Five of the buildings were separated into four classrooms, the cafeteria and kitchen occupied
another and the library, administrative offices, and teachers' lounge filled the final building.
Within the overall composition, each building makes a complete and unified statement about itself: its construction is a simple
and straightforward combination of brick, timber, and glass. Circulation between buildings is exterior under generous overhanging
eaves that provide good shade and shelter from the elements. Connection between the blocks is by covered walkways. The open
construction of the low pitched roofs and generous windows provide light and airy interiors to the classrooms. The combination of
laminated timber beams with a ceiling of exposed mill plank decking imparts a warm color to the interiors.
