Cornelius Elementary

This project consists of a 28,000 square foot addition, and renovations to portions of the existing building. The addition provides a multipurpose room, media center, 16 classrooms, and support areas. The renovations include an expansion of the cafeteria into the existing multipurpose room, expansion of the Administration and Student Service offices, renovation of several classrooms, upfitting a new Art Room, a new Music Room and two new Resource Rooms.

The existing HVAC system was replaced throughout the school with the exception of the most recent addition, consolidating the school's HVAC into one central boiler and chiller. The site design includes both the expansion of the bus parking to accommodate 17 buses and the addition of a car parking lot for 125 cars. The existing fire alarm system was upgraded to comply with current building code requirements.
