The design for the new Majors Bookstore and Classroom Building located on Central Piedmont's main campus is an extension
of the new revitalized image of the campus. The new building serves not only as an anchor collegiate building, but also as a
liaison between the College and an adjacent historic neighborhood. The predominant architectural image of the building is its
collegiate identity, reinforced by the use of brick and precast in the facade.
The project also addressed numerous aspects of sustainable design. A holistic approach was used in order to implement various
strategies that reduce the building's impact on the environment and maximizes building energy performance and efficiency.
